<Old Japanese Tool>

The photos above show an old hammering tool used on shears in Japan.
Of course, an actual hammer can be used, but it takes years of practice to use hammers directly; even then, it is not easy.

The cylindrical base is iron, and the hammer is brass. Therefore, the hammer does not damage the scissor blade as brass is softer than stainless steel.
The advantage of this tool is that it can accurately hit the desired point on the blade. However, hitting the same desired spot could not always resolve the problem of the scissors.

The idea was good to make a simple but practical tool for sharpening, but it was not enough for performing the specific job for the high-end shears.
